Account Manager – Pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical Ingredients

Global Pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical ingredients supplier is looking to fill an Account Manager position, based in the Eastern PA/New Jersey area. Any location within the territory is good. Product lines include USP Grade Solvents, Excipients, and APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients). This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading global pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical ingredients supplier. It’s also an excellent income opportunity. Overnight travel should be ~10%. |
Responsibilities: Manage and grow an existing account base in the PA/NJ region. Sell a broad range of ingredients to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturing markets in the territory. The business requires selling mainly on a commercial level and sometimes technical level to Scientists, Product Developers, Manufacturing Managers, and Purchasing Personnel. Prospect for and develop new business opportunities at existing accounts and develop new accounts. Manage pricing, trouble shooting, new product introductions, etc. Communicate effectively with management, suppliers, and customers. Develop the sales strategy for the territory. Effectively use a CRM program (Salesforce) to manage territory and account information. |
Requirements: 4+ years of pharmaceutical ingredient, nutraceutical ingredient, food ingredient, or related chemical distribution industry sales experience. A strong track record of sales success. High energy with the capacity to handle a large volume of activity. A college degree is required, but the concentration is open. Experience selling products into a regulated industry would be a plus. Must be very professional, self-motivated, have competitive drive, and the ability to manage many activities, products, accounts, pricing, etc. |

Compensation: Base salary: $90,000 – $135,000 commensurate with experience. Bonus: Paid quarterly and based on gross profit dollar growth over prior year; 20% of base salary per year is realistic on average.
