Location: Home-based; ideally in the Houston, TX area. Dallas or Austin could also work.

Large national specialty chemical company is looking to fill a critical sales position in the Houston, TX area. Dallas or Austin are also good locations. This is an excellent career growth opportunity, perfectly suited for someone with an aggressive and successful sales background. The territory is the Southwest and Western States. The overnight travel will be approximately 50%.

Responsibilities: Sell a broad range of Specialty Oils (Mineral Oils, Petrolatums, White Oils, etc.) to a variety of markets (Personal Care, Lubricants, Plastics, Food, Agriculture, and other Industrial Sectors) in the region. Sell on both a commercial & technical level. Manage all existing business. Aggressively prospect for and develop new sales opportunities. Communicate and work with all internal departments effectively. Grow sales aggressively. Travel overnight as needed.

Requirements: 3+ years of chemical industry sales experience. A bachelor’s degree is required. A technical degree is a plus. Experience selling raw material chemicals that go into formulations is a good fit. Must be a self-starter and able to work well internally with all departments. Must be somewhat self-managing and have strong computer skills.

Company Information: Specialty Chemical Division of a large North American Oil & Lubricants company.

Compensation: Base: $100,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience). Plus, annual bonus averaging in the 15-20% of base salary range. Car allowance. Excellent company benefits. Opportunities for advancement.
