Large Midwest producer of High-Purity Consumer & Industrial Alcohols (Pure and Denatured) is looking to fill a critical Sales position, home-based in the Houston, TX area. Other locations such as Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio are also acceptable. This is an excellent opportunity to join a world class distiller of high purity alcohols, selling to the General Industrial and Personal Care markets in the territory (TX and surrounding States). This is an exciting, challenging, and new sales development type of position. It’s a solid income and career growth opportunity as well. There should be ~35% overnight travel with this role.

Responsibilities:  Build up a regional sales territory from scratch. Sell a select range of high-purity alcohols (Pure & Denatured) to the General Industrial (adhesives, detergents, explosives, inks, plastics, textiles, etc.) and Personal Care markets in the territory. The business requires selling mainly on a value and commercial level. Prospect for and develop new sales opportunities throughout the territory (TX, OK, AR, LA, NM). Most of the business will be in TX. This is repeat business, so maintaining strong customer relationships will be key. Manage product introductions, value selling, pricing, trouble shooting, etc. Communicate effectively with management, internal departments, and customers. Develop the sales strategy for the territory. Effectively utilize a CRM program to manage the sales pipeline and account information.

Requirements: 8+ years of chemical industry sales experience with a distributor or producer. Able to sell value and be a hunter for new business. High energy with the capacity to handle a large volume of activity. A college degree is required, but the concentration is open. Must be very professional, self-motivated, and able to manage many activities, accounts, pricing, etc.

Company Information: One of the largest US-Based High-Purity Alcohol producers. They sell to both the Consumer & Industrial Markets.

Compensation: Base: $125,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience, plus annual bonus targeted at 10% of base salary per year. IRS Rate of $.67/mile is paid for business use of personal car. Excellent company benefits. Opportunities for career growth and advancement.
