Regional manufacturer of adhesives is looking to fill a Territory Sales Manager position in the Upper Midwest Region.  Good locations for this position are Chicago, Indianapolis, or Northern Indiana. This position would be focused on selling a broad range of materials, such as; hot melts, water-based glues, emulsion polymers, mastics, urea, synthetic resins and other specialty chemicals to general industrial markets in the Midwestern U.S. (Southern WI, IL, IN, and Southern MI). This is an excellent opportunity to join a company with a very broad product portfolio. It’s also an excellent income opportunity. Overnight travel would be approximately 20%.

Responsibilities: Sell a broad range of industrial adhesives to general industrial markets in the Midwestern U.S.  There are multiple product lines used in a variety of applications. Sell on a value-add basis. Call on engineers and applicators, as well as plant managers and purchasing. Develop strong business relationships. Manage pricing, trouble shooting, and follow-up on all service issues. Aggressively prospect for new sales opportunities and fill the new project pipeline. Develop the sales plan for the territory and execute the plan. Communicate effectively with customers and internal management.

Requirements: 3 plus years of adhesives sales experience focused on industrial markets is preferred. Broad product line experience.  Experience with a distributor would be a plus.  A high level of self-motivation and a strong work-ethic. Solid organization skills. Excellent customer relationship building abilities. A positive attitude with a curious mind-set to understand how things are made. A Bachelor’s Degree is required; technical or business degree is preferred.

Compensation: Base: $80,000 – $125,000, commensurate with experience. Plus, uncapped commission plan; $25,000 – $50,000+ is a realistic range. Company car or car allowance. Excellent benefits. Opportunities for advancement.
